On Saturday, December 1st, 2018, Alpha Kappa Alpha hosted a resume and personal statement workshop for local high schoolers and their parents at Spalding University's Academic Commons. QEP and Writing Center staff taught high school students the conventions of personal statements for college admissions and facilitated a brainstorming activity so students could get a start on their college application essays. Participants were given The Effective Writer's Toolkit, and students were invited to come back to Spalding's Writing Center anytime.
