QEP Writing Through Revision

The Writing Process

Writing Process Chart

A poster of the above diagram will be displayed in all Spalding classrooms by the end of the Spring 2019 semester. We hope you can use this as a visual aid when you discuss the writing process with your students. While the writing process is individual to each writer, teaching a progression of phases that is consistent across the curriculum helps to:

  • encourage metacognition
  • scaffold the writing process
  • promote peer review practices
  • increase skill transfer from course to course.

Note: The Spalding writing handbook created by the QEP team will be updated in Summer 2019 to reflect the above writing process diagram. The diagram was created by the marketing team and revised based on feedback from QEP-affiliated faculty and staff.
