Welcome to the Writing-Research Toolkit for instructors
Information Literacy and Writing Composition are often taught as separate or distinct practices, though experienced scholars recognize the many overlaps and intersections of the research and writing processes. This toolkit is intended to provide innovative ideas and support for instructors teaching at the intersections of research and writing.
Developed collaboratively by Spalding University librarians and Writing Center staff, this toolkit includes:
- an overview of shared goals of writing and information literacy instruction,
- sample activities and assignments for teaching the intersections of writing and research,
- recommendations for assignment design and sequenced instruction
- resources for further reading and learning
