The ACCUPLACER Exam tests your knowledge in mathematics and is taken by students to determine which math class is the best fit for their skill level. Students may take the ACCUPLACER exam up to two times with at least one month between testing. By taking the ACCUPLACER, you could save TIME and MONEY because you could potentially test out of both USM-090 (University Studies Math) and MATH-104 (Intermediate Algebra). The table below indicates what score is needed to be placed in each course.

Which ACCUPLACER Exam do I need to take?
The Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics test assesses a range of topics including computing with rational numbers, applying ratios and proportional reasoning, creating linear expressions and equations, graphing and applying linear equations, understanding probability and sets, and interpreting graphical displays.
The ACCUPLACER Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics placement test has 20-multiple choice questions. While you do not need a calculator to solve these problems, an onscreen calculator is available for some questions. If a question allows for the use of a calculator, an icon will appear for you to select the type of calculator you want to use. Not all questions will have this option.
