Purpose of Guide

This guide is intended to help you organize and write a quality research paper for classes taught in the social sciences. Note: if you have specific questions about how to write a research paper, you should seek advice from your professor before you begin. Requirements set forth by your professor will always supersede instructions provided in these general guidelines.

Writing Center Appointments

The Spalding University Writing Center is located on the 2nd floor of the University Library in the Academic Commons.

We are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Consultations are usually 45 minutes. Please bring your assignment sheet and any other supporting materials. 

Our goal is to help you in the writing process; we usually focus on two or three areas of revision opportunity in your work.
