Dissertation Publication

Your dissertation is a significant milestone in your professional and personal life. But it's more than that: it's also your contribution to the accumulated research-based knowledge of your discipline.  The university and library believe in disseminating our students' and our institution's intellectual work as broadly as possible.  We urge and encourage you to publish it in ProQuest's ETD database.

ProQuest ETD (formerly UMI) has been publishing dissertations and theses since 1938. In that time, they have published over 2 million graduate works from graduate schools around the world. They have over 700 active university publishing partners and publish more than 70,000 new graduate works each year. In addition to publishing, they provide access to graduate works held at thousands of libraries around the world through the service now known as ProQuest Dissertations and Theses (PQDT) and formerly known as Dissertation Abstracts.

The relationship between you and ProQuest ETD is that of author and publisher. Spalding University Library will assist as an intermediary in the process. This LibGuide will provide you with the information you need to submit your manuscript to ProQuest ETD for publication.

The Library supports the submission process of dissertation publication. We "press the button" for final submission of your dissertation to ProQuest ETD for publication. 

However, the Library is not responsible for errors in the formatting or content of your document and we do not provide proofreading services either for formatting or content. We presume that the submitted document has reached its final form, which is  decided by your advisor, your committee, and yourself.
