Tutoring Services and Resources

All Spalding University students are welcome to take advantage of tutoring services (including Reading Lab, Writing Center, and Math Lab). You do not need to be struggling to receive tutoring - in fact we encourage you to be proactive and take advantage of support services early and often!

 

To schedule an appointment at either the Math Lab, Writing Center, or Reading Lab, fill out the form via Navigate by going to the “Appointments” menu and select “Make an Appointment.” When asked who you want to schedule with, just choose who you need to meet with and answer the other questions about what you need help with.  

 

Math Lab
The Math Lab is located in the University Library on the 2nd floor. The Math Lab can be contacted by email at [email protected]. The Math Lab is available to all students and can help in Basic Math, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus. Jessica Mulder (Math Lab Coordinator) [email protected] can also be emailed for additional information.

 

Writing Center
The Writing Center is located in the University Library on the 2nd Floor in the Academic Commons. If you would like to contact the Writing Center you may do so by emailing [email protected] or contacting Dr. Laura Detmering (Writing Center Director) [email protected] or Darby Campbell, MA (Writing Center Coordinator) [email protected].

 

Reading Lab
The Reading Lab is available to help with reading assignments and general reading skills. The Reading Lab is located on the 2nd Floor of the University Library. You can make a Reading Lab appointment via Navigate or email Emily Campbell ([email protected]).

 

Tutoring
Tutoring services are available to all Spalding students in need of assistance. Virtual tutoring is available 24/7 via TutorMe, which can be accessed through Canvas. If you would like to be matched with a tutor on campus, email [email protected]. For additional information regarding the tutoring services offered, Emily Campbell can be emailed at [email protected]

Subject-Based Tutoring

If you are looking for subject-based tutoring, please email t[email protected] and let us know what you are interested in. Our tutors are here to provide you with guidance and direction as you navigate your courses, learn the ins and outs of academia, and prepare for tests and graduate school.

A lot of our tutors are graduate students who have already successfully navigated the journey of moving from undergrad to graduate school. They know the difficulties and the work involved. They also know what worked for them in the process and they are willing to share that experience and knowledge with you.
