QEP Writing Through Revision

The Writing Center

The Spalding University Writing Center is a great place for students to visit to get some assistance in the writing process!  The Writing Center is located on the 2nd floor of the University Library in the Academic Commons.  They are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Consultations are usually 45 minutes. Their goal is to help students in the writing process and as such they usually focus on two or three areas of opportunity in their work.

While writing is generally their focus, the Writing Center offers all kinds of services to help students in the learning process.  The Writing Center's goal is to build confidence in students while helping them understand the writing process so that they can improve their work.  Check out the list below to see what they do.

  • Offer assistance in writing a variety of papers from any subject or course.
  • Recommend strategies for improvement/correction in writing assignments. (However, writing consultants do not edit, proofread, or revise papers.)
  • Teach MLA, APA, and AMA formatting
  • Brainstorm ideas, discuss direction, and formulate a writing plan.
  • Review papers and provide feedback in formatting, structure, grammar, vocabulary, organization, documenting, etc.
  • Help with resumes, CVs, and other career documents.
