Dr. Russell Carpenter is Executive Director of the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity, Director of Applied Creative Thinking, and Associate Professor of English at Eastern Kentucky University. He is editor of the Journal of Faculty Development and Chair of Research and Development in the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA). Recent books include Writing Studio Pedagogy and Innovating Faculty Development. He is working on an innovative modular textbook, Design for Composition, which is under contract with Parlor Press. In 2017, he was recognized with the Provost Distinguished Service Award for exemplary service in support of professional development and academic excellence at EKU. Current book projects include: Writing Studio Pedagogy: Space, Place, and Rhetoric in Collaborative Environments (with Dr. Matthew Kim; Rowman & Littlefield), Innovating Faculty Development (New Forums Press), and Design for Composition (with Dr. Sohui Lee; Parlor Press).
